Some of you may be familiar with the MyCAA education funding program. This program offers military spouses several thousand dollars for education in growing career fields. MyCAA is funded by the Department of Defense, and it was indefinitely halted back in February because of the program’s unexpected popularity and worries about going over budget. On October 25, MyCAA once again began accepting new applications for aid!

This is great news for military spouses interested in training with Career Step because MyCAA covers the entire cost of any of our career programs. If your contacts are eligible military spouses, they can take a Career Step training program with no out-of-pocket expense!

Here are a few important MyCAA facts you should know:

  • MyCAA offers eligible military spouses up to $4,000 for training costs.
  • Funds cover certification and licensure programs as well as Associate’s degrees.
  • To qualify, an individual must be the current spouse of an active duty Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine, or activated National Guard or Reserve member.
  • Spouses of military service members in pay grades E1-E5, O1-O2, and W1-W2 are eligible for funding (for an explanation of military pay grades, visit http://www.ehow.com/way_5888249_military-ranks-explained.html).
