New Law in California

Pharmacy TechnicianNo Comments

California passed a new law affecting pharmacies that went into effect 1 January 2012. Now anyone under the age of 18 that needs a cough suppressant that contains dextromethorphan must present a prescription from their physician. Anyone trying to buy dextromethorphan (DXM) without a prescription must show an ID to prove they are 18 or older. DXM is an ingredient that is used in the manufacture of recreational drugs.
