Career Step CFO, John Hiatt, has been recognized as one of the recipients of Utah Business Magazine’s CFO of the Year award. Career Step is a leading healthcare education company, and Mr. Hiatt has served as the Company’s CFO since 2007.
“This is an award that John has truly earned, and we’re very pleased that his outstanding service has been recognized,” said Career Step CEO Mike Wilstead. “John was instrumental in negotiating the sale of the Company from the original founder to the current investors in February 2009 and was an important player in transitioning of the Company to the new management team. Career Step’s growth and success in the last year is largely due to John’s ability to balance the needs of new and old investors alike and his exceptional operational management skills.”
Utah Business Magazine’s 2010 CFO of the Year program recognized 16 CFOs from a variety of different businesses all over Utah, including honorees from the private, public, non-profit, and government sectors.
Mr. Hiatt was selected as a CFO of the Year within the small, private company category and was chosen from among those nominated for his solid financial leadership during an intense period of growth. In 2009, Career Step increased its earnings by 25 percent, its sales by 30 percent and its product offerings by 50 percent.
Mr. Hiatt was recognized at an awards banquet held at the Little America Hotel in Salt Lake City, and the June 2010 Utah Magazine issue includes an in-depth feature on Mr. Hiatt as well as the other honored Utah CFOs.
