CareerStep, an online provider of career-focused education and corporate training, is proud to announce that the curriculum of its electronic health records (EHR) curriculum included in its Medical Administrative Assistant with EHR course meets the professional requirements published by the National Healthcareer Association (NHA).

“The NHA is a leading industry organization that focuses on improving the quality of allied health education,” said Ryan Ewer, CareerStep Vice President of Enrollments and Marketing. “Their position in the industry ensures they are in line with the skills and certifications employers are looking for. Meeting the NHA requirements is a testament to the quality of our educational offerings.”

CareerStep’s Medical Administrative Assistant with EHR program was released this past November. The program builds on CareerStep’s Medical Administrative Assistant program by updating and expanding the training provided on electronic health records. Electronic records are becoming increasingly common in healthcare, increasing the demand for administrative professionals with EHR expertise.

“We added EHR curriculum to our Medical Administrative Assistant program because having this additional expertise helps set our graduates apart in the job market and gives them an edge,” said Jerolyn Robertson, CareerStep Vice President of Academics. “Meeting the NHA requirements shows that we have developed curriculum that provides useful education and truly prepares students for the workplace.”

CareerStep’s Medical Administrative Assistant with EHR program prepares students for the Certified Medical Administrative Assistant and Certified Electronic Health Records Specialist, both of which are available through NHA. The CareerStep training can be completed in as little as three months, and upon graduation students will receive vouchers for the NHA exams.

The NHA began in 1989 after the founder noticed a need for healthcare workers. The organization has certified more than 400,000 allied health professionals, and the demand for skilled professionals continues to rise. The NHA works with schools and educators as well as providers and allied health practitioners to help transform the healthcare industry through proper education, training and certification.
