Thanks to all of your great referral efforts in November, Career Step will be donating $5,000 to the National Military Family Association’s Operation Purple® Program.
This is the third year we’ve been able to donate to this worthy cause with the help of our awesome referrers—aka YOU! The money raised will go to support Operation Purple® Programs, which are designed to help children deal with the stress and uncertainty of having a deployed parent. Their programs include family retreats, healing adventures, and summer camps for kids.
Operation Purple Family Retreats®
These retreats are designed to help families reconnect after a deployment. Families are able to spend time in beautiful outdoor locations, participate in fun family-oriented activities, make memories together, and learn valuable communication skills—ensuring they return home stronger.
Operation Purple Healing Adventures®
Designed to celebrate rediscovering family fun and togetherness after an injury, these camps combine family activities and outdoor exploration. Families also learn communication skills to ensure they can continue growing closer while adapting to a “new normal.”
Operation Purple® Camp
This past summer, the National Military Family Association hosted 13 camps throughout the U.S.! These camps are designed support military kids with a deployed parent by allowing them to connect with other kids just like them. Military kids from families of all ranks and services (including National Guard and Reserve components) are invited to share this unique, memorable, weeklong camp experience.
“The money raised with the help of Career Step’s Referral Program will help us continue building strong military families and children throughout the country and across all branches of the military,” said Terry Buchanan, Youth Initiatives Director for NMFA. “Thank you for your support and the meaningful contribution you’ve made to supporting our military community.”
Thank you again for helping us support military families while promoting Career Step! This cause is very special to us, and we greatly appreciate all of your efforts to help us make the most of our 2015 donation!
