Career Step Partners with Piedmont Community College to Help Students Gain Careers in Growing Healthcare Industry
PROVO, Utah—Career Step, a leading online healthcare education company, has partnered with Piedmont Community College in Roxboro, N.C. to offer training to individuals interested in pursing careers in medical transcription and medical coding and billing.
“We chose to partner with Career Step because they are a highly respected industry leader. The programs they offer are extremely thorough, well developed, interactive and engaging,” said Randy Reynolds, Director of Piedmont Community College’s Business Development and Entrepreneurship Center. “We feel that upon successful completion of either program, our students will be well qualified to start their new career. In the current economic climate, our students need every edge they can get for their job search.”
Piedmont Community College has received many student requests over the years for online medical coding and medical transcription curricula and was particularly aware of North Carolina’s shortage of certified coders. These concerns led the school’s continuing education department to partner with Career Step.
“We’re excited about the career education opportunities our partnership will bring to the students of Piedmont Community College,” said Career Step’s Vice President of Business Services, Cameron Loflin. “Through our partnership with PCC, students will be able train for careers that are in-demand, with the convenience and flexibility of online training.”
Piedmont Community College will be holding two Open House information sessions in the Business Development Center on Tuesday, June 9 at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. for those interested in learning more about the advantages of training through Piedmont Community College’s Career Step offerings and the attractive career opportunities in the fields of medical coding and billing and medical transcription.
